5 Years of Wikipedia!

The free online encyclopedia that anyone (wait, almost anyone) can edit turns 5 years old today. As of when this was posted, there were roughly 920,000 articles being worked on. That’s about 500 articles a day! Not long now till 1,000,000 articles.

Oh, if you’re wondering what host I used, I went with PowWeb. They had a good deal and lots of automated scripts for installing stuff. “Stuff” meaning WordPress, phpBB, crap like that.

So yeah… I’ll let you fuckers know when the site is up. Sigh.

Having trouble with that ext* driver?

Let’s say you’re in my situation. 1 floppy drive, 2 disc drives, 2 hard drives, and the occasional USB storage device (MP3 player, camera, etc). So basically there are drives A, C, D, E, F and the occasional G. Let’s also say that one of your drives is partitioned, and one of the partitions is the ext* one you want to access. Let’s also also say you use the driver to mount it as G. Now plug in a USB storage device. Does it show up at all? If it doesn’t, you’re not alone. Here’s an easy solution: mount the ext* partition/drive as Z. You probably won’t have THAT many devices hooked up to your computer, and the USB drives show up just fine.
