Object Desktop

December 31, 2005
I just bought myself Stardock’s Object Desktop. It’s downloading right now.
I love/hate having money and nothing to do with it.
And yeah. I thought I might support the company and actually buy their product for once.
That is all. I’ll let you know when it’s done downloading.
This is gonna take awhile…

Hey, Cool

December 31, 2005
A month or two ago I ordered some of them free Ubuntu CDs, just to see if I’d get them, and I got them today! I forgot about them, of course, but my mom handed me the package with that “What the hell is this?” look. I saw the word “Canonical” and was like “OH YEAH!”
So now I have five CDs. The other reason I wanted them is because they’re all labelled and purdy. So yeah.
Do I know you? If so, want one? Eh. Ask me and I’ll think about it.
I have 5.

A Game Everyone Should Play

December 31, 2005
I went to Wal-Mart today and bought myself Fable: The Lost Chapters and a wireless controller for my PS2. I just got through playing Fable for like six hours straight. Everyone needs to go buy that game. Go buy it NOW.
That is all.

Jellyfishing! Jellyfishing! Jellyfishing! Jellyfishing!

December 30, 2005
[insert heavy metal guitar riff here]
I’m listening to the “Pre-Hibernation” song form the Spongebob Squarepants soundtrack (yes, it exists).
I remember back in the 6th grade, whenever there was a field trip my mom would take a bunch of kids in her van, and I’d always bring this CD. And whenever we hit a traffic light I would blast the Pre-Hibernation song (if you don’t know why, it’s by Pantera. Figure it out.) and we’d all make the van rock. People would stare at us. Oh, it was great fun.
In other news, whenever I look at the Mechanical Animals album cover, I have a sudden urge to grab his (Marilyn Manson’s) boobs. (He has boobs on the album cover. Yes. Google Image ”Mechanical Animals” or something.)
Oh well. I’m not as bad as my friend Mallissa, who wants to screw his brains out. She said that if she were a guy she’d “totally bone him”. It’s really entertaining listening to her obsess over him.
In other other news, Oscar’s friend (I kind of know her) Simone called and needs computer help. I’m gonna go over to her place sometime today. She offered money, I declined (being the little angel I am), but hey, if she insists on giving me money, whatever. Her computer is acting really slow. I’m thinking it’s spyware. If not, since it’s an older machine, she needs more RAM. I have some lying around… it’s not the kind my computer can take, unfortunately, but her’s might be able to.
If her computer is REALLY old I have an old Athlon and an old Celeron lying around… hopefully they work.
But I’m sure her computer’s not THAT old, since it’s running XP and living to tell the tale.
And I think the Celeron might be screwed… I took it out and one of the pins bent, I bent it back and it goes back in, but I don’t know if it’ll still work. Oh well. I love having a motherboard collection.
OOH! I found the BIOS chip!
Please excuse me while I look at my motherboards.

Million Dollar Homepage nears million dollar mark.

December 30, 2005

As of 12/29 Alex Tew, founder of The Million Dollar Homepage, has sold 911,000 pixels. In four months. “If you have an envious streak, you probably shouldn’t read this.”- Reuters

If I could afford it, I’d buy the whole thing and make it one big sign that says “CAT IS COOL”.
But, you know, that’s just me.

Oxidised water allows you to “breathe” underwater.

December 30, 2005

The digg story about the “dry water” also has some other side-effects. Turns out that if you oxidise this liquid a normal animal (such as a mouse) or human can easily “breathe” the liquid into their lungs and fully function. Here is an experiment on a mouse using a similar solution.

Holy shit I want some of this. This would be fun to play with. They should make all the water like this. We can all be fishpeople! Rarr!
